چکیده

Self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) models offer one way to reconcile inconsistencies between observations and predictions from collisionless cold (CDM) on dwarf-galaxy scales. In order incorporate the effects of both baryonic SIDM interactions, we study a suite cosmological-baryonic simulations Milky-Way (MW)-mass galaxies Feedback in Realistic Environments (FIRE-2) project where vary self-interaction cross-section $\sigma/m$. We compare shape main (DM) halo at redshift $z=0$ predicted by (at $\sigma/m=0.1$, $1$, $10$ cm$^2$ g$^{-1}$) with CDM using same initial conditions. presence feedback effects, find that do not produce large differences inner structure MW-mass SIDM-only models. However, radius total mass distribution begins differ stellar is dependent This transition could potentially be used set limits MW.

Dark-matter decays and Milky Way satellite galaxies

We consider constraints on a phenomenological dark-matter model consisting of two nearly degenerate particle species using observed properties of the Milky Way satellite galaxy population. The two parameters of this model, assuming the particle masses are * GeV, are vk, the recoil speed of the daughter particle, and , the lifetime of the parent particle. The satellite constraint that spans the ...

Exploring dark matter with Milky Way substructure.

The unambiguous detection of dark matter annihilation in our Galaxy would unravel one of the most outstanding puzzles in particle physics and cosmology. Recent observations have motivated models in which the annihilation rate is boosted by the Sommerfeld effect, a nonperturbative enhancement arising from a long-range attractive force. We applied the Sommerfeld correction to Via Lactea II, a hig...

A dark matter disc in three cosmological simulations of Milky Way mass galaxies

Making robust predictions for the phase-space distribution of dark matter at the solar neighbourhood is vital for dark matter direct-detection experiments. To date, almost all such predictions have been based on simulations that model the dark matter alone. Here, we use three cosmological hydrodynamic simulations of bright, disc-dominated galaxies to include the effects of baryonic matter self-...

Evidence for dark matter in Milky Way

There is an asymmetry between the mass of the electric charges, for example proton and electron, can understood by the asymmetrical Planck Distribution Law. This temperature dependent energy distribution is asymmetric around the maximum intensity, where the annihilation of matter and antimatter is a high probability event. The asymmetric sides are creating different frequencies of electromagnet...

Self-Interacting Dark Matter

Spergel and Steinhardt have recently proposed the concept of dark matter with strong self-interactions as a means to address numerous discrepancies between observations of dark matter halos on subgalactic scales and the predictions of the standard collisionless dark matter picture. We review the motivations for this scenario and discuss some recent, successful numerical tests. We also discuss t...
